The South Atlantic Medal without Rosette.

Changes to Eligibility.

Sitrep 6.

SA MedalI Phoned the Medals desk at RFA Pers on Wednesday 8th April to see what is the latest state of play and things appear to be very positive indeed. Yesterday (Wednesday 9th April) I received this promising e-mail from them so stay patient (as they have asked) and keep an eye on your doormat, you might be next in line.

South Atlantic Medal 82.

The majority of applications received for the above medal under the extended qualifying criteria have been processed. For those who have qualified their medals have now been ordered. An approximate delivery date was requested but unfortunately this has not been forthcoming.

There are still a few applications which have not yet been processed as the information required is not yet available. Once further research has been completed (by higher authorities) regarding the ships concerned then these applications will be revisited.

Additional applications for the SAM 82 have now been received. On receipt of the further research another order will be submitted for all other qualifying applications. Your patience is appreciated.

Please drop me an email to deputy.chairman@rfa-association.org.uk if yours does appear on your doormat, so I can sitrep again and keep other potential recipients up to date.

For former Stonnery applicants:- Are you getting anwhere with this and if not please drop me a line at deputy.chairman@rfa-association.org.uk and I will see if I can find a "cage to rattle" on your behalf.  The same applies to Merchant Navy Stuft personell that have a claim, we would like to know how you are getting on and would like to help where and if we can.
