CTBIt is with so much sadness that I report that Captain Harold (Jasper) Osborne- Cribb RFA(Retd). (Member number 0023) crossed the bar on Thursday 20th February 2020 aged 89.

I have little information at the moment other than Jasper's funeral is expected to be held at  Rawdon Crematorium (HERE for the website and HERE for a map) on 16 March 2020 to be confirmed. The arrangements are being made by Goods Funeral Directors, Otley (HERE for the website and HERE for a map)

As ever I will update this page as more information becomes available.

On behalf of the RFA Association I offer our sincere condolences to all his family.

If you have any remembrances of Jasper please email it to me at captain.pat@rfa-association.org.uk and I will post them on this page. Alternatively you can post to our facebook page "RFA Crossed the Bar". I am also looking for photographs of Jasper for this piece and the RFA Association Gallery and Archive, if you have one please email it to me.

There are a number of important changes proposed by the Trustees to the RFA Association's Constitution. Below are 2 downloadable documents in PDF format, one showing the entire proposed new constitution and the other outlining the actual changes in summary.

icon RFA Association Draft Constitution 2020 (218.98 kB)

icon RFAA Constitution Proposed changes Summary (119.34 kB)

It must be emphasised that the above documents are not extant and will not become extant if and until they are approved by a vote of the membership either attending the AGM and or opting to vote by post, a two thirds majority of those voting is required in accordance with the present Constitution (As ammended at AGM 2014) Article 12  and available on the RFAA website.

The Trustees encourage all members to carefully study and support the changes described in these documents before deciding how to vote but believe the changes are necessary to ensure the long term future of our  Association.

You will need a PDF viewer to read these documents and if you haven't already got one you can download one for free from the Adobe website here:-

cbrCOMRFA has agreed to pass the Cascade Briefing on to us which is absolutely brilliant. This is what Gunline and Force 4 have evolved into.  It is sent by email to all serving personnel and is aimed at them, but it gives Association members an insight into how the service is run now and how things have evolved since most of us have retired.  The RFAA will have a page in the next edition.

I can be downloaded from the Home Page Main->COMRFAs Cascade Brief

It is in Portable Document Format so so will need a PDF Viewer to read it. If you haven't already got a PDF viewer you can download and install one from Adobe here https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/

If you have any problems downloading it please contact me at captain.pat@rfa-association.org.uk

First the good news.....the annual mailing including the Year Book went into the post this morning (Fri 14 Feb 2020).

The bad news is that It has been found that pages 17-32 (members details) are missing and some others are duplicated.  This is the printer's fault and the publisher has been made aware.  After a random check of the remaining books we have, it is not common to all copies.  Some are good and others not!  In the first instance, if a member isn't bothered about the members contact details and are happy to use last years book (there's not been that many changes) to do so.  If a member really wants a 'good' copy, they should email the Chair or Deputy Chair and we'll post one.  We can't guarantee to replace every faulty book as we don't know the scale of the issue and may not have enough good copies to go round.

Any inconvenience is regretted, but this is beyond the Association's control.
